Today was a small birthday party for my oh so wonderful eldest niece. we’re a smal geeky family so usually nothing terribly weird or (sorry) exciting happens. Today, my sister decided to spice things up! What a suprise she had for me. My sister is Erin. Erin lives in a very nice house, in a very nice neighborhood. She has a beautiful backyard surrounded by trees. Her neighbor, Mrs. T also owns a vary large pond. The pond is directly behind my sisters house. The neighborhood swims there, fathers take their boys fishing there, all and all a beautiful place.
As you can see from the pictures. All around me a beautiful view. Even looking down I get to see my nieces beautiful feet in the sand.
The last picture shows a retaining wall. There is quite a climb up to the yards, over some classic stone steps, and then a small walk to the back of Mrs. T’s house.
Why you ask are we all at the beach instead of up at the house enjoying food, fun and cake? Because we’re waiting for these party crashers to leave!
Before they left they loaded Mrs. T onto a bright orange hard plastic board and then they and my husband, and Erin’s Doug carried her back to her house. Then, she enjoyed a comfortable ride to the hospital.
The poor woman (who is 88 years old) walked down to the beach sat for an hour, and then when she stood up discovered that her leg hurt so bad she couldn’t put any weight on it! she had to wait down there, on the beach waiting for someone to happen along. Found out a few hours later that she had in fact broken her hip.
But we took it in stride an went on to the grilling! gifts, cake and fun times were had.
