Saturday_May_24

First we went to the Zoo.

No Animals for you though!

Then we went to a fancy schmancy strip mall and bought nothing.

We did however find these nifty statues

Wish I had some for my front yard

Then off to the Races!  First time this year.  I won every race I bet on except one.  We came home with more money than we left with.  That’s always a nice bonus.
Tomorrow is yard cleaning.

  1. I want one of those too

  2. I love the puppy!  Steve and I were in Lowe’s last night looking for trashbags, and I wound up picking up a little ceramic pig and carrying him around with me for a while.  He was too cute.

Chalk Player ….good for you. regards

  4. @Basilwire – Actually I”m much worse.  I play by instinct.  Somedays I lose every single race, luckily, this was not one of those days.

  5. A wholesome trotting race instead one where they “set down right on the horse!”Saturday May 24 was much more exciting that Sunday will prove to be unless you come upon a snake.Did the zoo send the animals on vaca?  And I rarely buy things at fancy malls either.  Looking is just as much fun.

  6. Interesting!  I have never seen a horse race yet!

  7. @coffeeiv – No, still full of animals, but I’ve posted so many pictures taken from the zoo I’m trying to avoid it!  Most of the buildings at our zoo were built using the Works Project during the depression from reclaimed materials.  Beautiful architechture, so we’re going that way this summer!

  8. RYCs:  Yes, hills are evil!!!  I can walk them no prob.  I do squats.  Can’t trike worth a damn.  Oh well, I’ll regain my 10 yr old legs one of these days.  I’m sure your comment about colorblindness was just too brilliant for public viewing!!!I want to go to the zoo!  Can’t go to the fancy mall because the bookstore is there – DANGER!!!  (maybe I’ll go to both next week)

  9. Lovely photos – I’d have loved to have the doggie one!Great luck at the races… I’ve never bet on the horses before and watching the trotters always makes me nervous – I’ve seen too many spills I guess.

  10. That’s what I call a good day! Not too often you leave with more than you came with. Did ya pick up a lotto ticket?!

  11. Sounds like a fun day!I love those statues!!!  I want the kitty!Looking at that blue water reminded me that Erik and I saw a seagull in a parking lot  and that it had a blue underside.  There was a place nearby that had blue water like that and we were wondering if he was taking a swim when they added the dye.  I wonder if his seagull friends thought he was cool because of his cool new look or shunned him because he was different.  Ok, now you see how weird I am??Hope you are having a lovely day!

  12. wow!! it looks like your weather has finally turned the corner!!

  13. Sounds like a fun filled day.  I love the zoo, shopping and have been to a couple races.  Not like that though!  I want a couple of those statues!  Those are really neat.  Guess I would need a cow and a pig to look right here.  lol  I hope your Sunday is full of fun as well.  Nothing going on here.  Very boring.

  14. The place is absolutely beautiful.

  15. Coming home with more money than you went out with means you could visit the fancy-schmancy mall again and, well just at the cunning statues of course.

  16. OMG! I want those statues!  Nice pics
