Conspicuous Consumption

I had an idea the other day. You know on television shows when they show an old news room and there is a bank of clocks with the time in cities al over the world?  Well, I thought it would be fun to do that at work.  With just four clocks, one for each of the cities where we have offices.  So I did!

I found these clocks at Walmart for $3.77 each.  I needed four, and there were four colors available. (Red, White, Blue and Black) It was meant to be.  I took off the front and made labels with the city names which I stuck inside.  I have them synced almost to the second.    We all keep stopping work and staring at them.

I love clocks.  I think I’ll buy myself a new clock for home this week.  I like clocks that make noise.  I only have two right now.  A carriage clock that chimes, and a cuckoo clock that, well, cuckoos.  My dream is to someday have a whole wall of clocks that make noise.

My husband wanted to go to the movies this weekend.  He wanted to see Miri & Zach make a Porno.  So we did.  Just don’t.

Hmm, now I want to stop typing, go finish my work and then go online and shop for a clock!

Yesterday I bought my husband a new monitor.  It should be here tomorrow.  17 Widescreen LCD, $99.00.  Good Deal.  He’s still using the CRT that we got about 7 years ago.  It’s time.  I was watching him play chess on the computer yesterday.  He does this quite frequently, and he has an outstanding record.  As I watched him yesterday I realized why.  His chess game came on Vista.  When you click on a piece it shows you all of the available moves, it also shows you if you would be putting your piece in jeopardy.  It also lets you go back a few moves!  So he just keeps playing and replaying until he wins.

Aforementioned husband took Wednesday as a vacation day to recover from staying up late on election day.  I think I’ll take the day off to.
