Protected post!

Only cause it  has pictures of my nieces. 🙂

Bed Blogging

It’s one of those glorious mornings.  The beagle and I lying in bed with coffee on the table and laptop on the lap.   The beagle is keeping my feet warm, and the laptop is keeping my lap warm.
Thanksgiving today will be at my sisters at 3.  Attending will be my sister, her girls and her beau, my husband and myself our two kids (adults) and one guyfriend. My sister will do all of the cooking and cleaning, we’ll eat, laugh and then play on the Wii.  No muss, no fuss, no pressure.
OMG!  Kevin Bacon as Jorge!  The tv is on and Beauty Shop just came on.  No matter what else happens, it was worth the 10 seconds of Kevin Bacon.
I’ve been stalking auctions online for the last couple of weeks.  Admittedly it’s an obsession.  I’ll get over it. Yesterday I bought a painting.  I don’t know what came over me.  I saw it and it just struck me.  It’s a watercolor.  It is damaged, but it’s difficult to tell how damaged from the photo.  So I bid on this painting, not much, then I went to lunch.  Came back and the other person who had been bidding did not up their bid.  Painting is mine.  Then I went online and googled the artist, you never know right?  As Emeril would say BAM!  The names shows up quite a few places.  I found a couple more paintings with images at other auction houses and it’s definitely the same artist.  You can tell by the style and color.  Now, my painting is probably worth less than I paid for it (almost nothing) because of the damage, but still that’s cool.  I bought myself a famous artist painting. I hope it strikes me the same way in person as it did online.  I like paintings that make you feel something.
The first think I ever bought on instinct was a music box.  I love music boxes but I don’t own many.  I bought a little funny one a few years ago for $3.00 and $5.00 shipping.  It’s cute, and it works, no markings or tags.  I just liked it.
Last night while showing my husband the painting that was about to move in with us, I typed in music box on a whim and found another one that matches the one I bought.  This one has tags on it though.  And that tag says Reuge, good maker.  I’ve bid on the matching one now too.  $8.00 for a $100.00 music box, not a bad deal.  Of course if I were smart, I would turn around and put them on ebay, but here’s the thing, I can’t.  I just like them.
Someday when I’m old I’ll give them to my great-grandchilren and let them sell them all.  Let them get some money from them.
Today I feel good.  I hope everyone who wanders in here feels good, and has a wonderful day.  I am full of so much hope and joy today that I believe it may be radiating a few states away.
