Good Morning Xanga world.

I’m at home today instead of work.  I have some things I need to take care of because it’s the last day of the month, and then tomorrow some things I have to take care of because it’s the first of the month, and I can see right now one of my oldest customers sending me emails as “high priority”.  There are days when I miss being a waitress.  No one ever sent me high priority messages saying I need some more coffee!  I guess I’ll answer him when I get done with this.  Even though my answer is, “No, you’re remembering this wrong.” I have the same conversation with him every 30 days, and there is nothing I can do for him.  Frustrating.

I’m loving my new iPod Touch.  It’s my new mini laptop.  I don’t use it for music, I have an mp3 player for that. This is for games and the wifi. 🙂

Going out for dinner tonight with my husband, my daughter and my step-son, and the respective boyfriends, girlfriends.  That’s always nice.  I love family.

I’m reading a book called Well Enough Alone by Jennifer Traig.  I’m enjoying it, but I find the reviews on book sites really interesting.  Some people really hated this book.  I think it’s fascinating how people can have such widely varying opinions about things.  Books, food, music.  Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

The other exciting part of my day is going to be a trip to the grocery store…by myself!  oooo, been a long time.  I want to buy ingredients to try a new soup recipe that I found through my Dr. Gourmet website.  I love this guy.  You see him all over my facebook and twitter too.  I’m always recommending or sharing or retweeting his stuff.

My recap of 2009 – Tough year with little progression, but I’m still here.

  1. very interesting. have fun grocery shopping.  Also at your dinner this evening.Beryl

  2. So what brand mp3 player do you use?Really, really am loving the iPod Touch!I’m weird – I love reading reviews!  How can people read the same thing or use the same product and have such different opinions?  The cranky reviews kind of crack me up when you can just tell that no matter what the person does not like anything.Enjoy your family dinner!  Fun times!  Family means a lot! What kind of soup?  Did you ever find a good potato soup recipe?  Have fun at the store!

  3. @skanickadee – I have a Creative Zen MP3 player.  Quick and easy and durable and good on battery life.  I did not find a good potato soup recipe but I’m getting closer at mixing all the bad ones up and making one of my own.  I’m going to be making Cannellini Bean Soup.I’m pretty sure some of my consonants are wrong that word. 🙂

  4. I think sometimes it really is easier to just be the laborer. You put in your hours, go home and forget about it until you have to go there again. Hope it shows down for you…That would be about my year too, only I might put in an “a” in that last sentence between the words ‘with’ and ‘little’–but just a little lolHappy New Year!

  5. Tracy: I hope you and your family have a terrific 2010 !!!

  6. Happy New Year, I hope its a really good one for you. Mine was crap too, but its a new year now.

  7. Happy New Year to you dear friend!

  8. I need to find a new good book.  I didn’t hear good reviews for audrey niffenegger’s next book – and i did so much love the time travelers wife.  I think I’ve read enough historical fiction surrounding the 10-1300’s.  So….needing a new read.     Happy New Year!  Best wishes for a much better 2010!!!
