Yesterday I woke up feeling great! Went to work…la dee da…doing my thing and BAM! Sudden blind spot in my right eye. I’ve had this happen before and I know what it is. It’s called an ocular migraine. Sometimes it goes away in thirty minutes or so, sometimes it is a precursor to a full blown migraine. My OD tells me it’s usually brought on by an allergic reaction. So, hung out at work until it cleared up, I guess it was about 45 minutes. Then about 39 minutes after that the pressure on my head started and I started getting flashing lights in my eyes, so shut down, came home and got in bed as quickly as humanly possible! Slept for three hours woke up feeling okay.
Had a headache, but missed the migraine. (yay!) I’m glad I don’t get them often.
But! That’s not my story. For the last five years or so I hear the word stroke from my doctor on a pretty regular basis. It’s her way of keeping me on my meds. My blood pressure is just that out of whack.(though at least now we know why, side effect of kidney disease)
This morning, I woke up and I still have a little headache, nothing too bad but I’ve also got a broken blood vessel in my eyeball (gross, but again, for me, normal). I hop in the shower and when I get out I was a little dizzy, I thought it was from my sinuses suddenly draining, and everything smells like TOAST! (one of the weird quirky symptoms many people who have suffered a stroke report, the sudden smell of toast)
I think, oh shit! This is it…stroke. I very calmly dry off, and through on my robe. Walk carefully out to of the bedroom to tell my husband this is probably it, and there is Sean, and his burnt toast.
Man oh Man, migraines freak me out.
Anywho…today is Yoga at a new place, with a current teacher at 11, then off to Ann Arbor for Trader Joes and maybe whole foods. Then I think I’m going to Bravo’s for dinner because I really need some real food!
LOL _ I also just heard a weird noise and whipped my head around to see what animal was squealing, only to discover my stool now squeaks.
Beautiful Beautiful Sunny Day!
