Been trying to get into the habit of going out to lunch a few times a week.  Just need to get out of the office more.

I have a Burger King this close to my office.

This Close

See, I can see it from my office window.  So it’s perfect.  It’s got wifi if I need it, and no customers…ever, so it’s a good place to read.

So far I have come up with two meals I can reasonably have.  I can have a veggie burger with no mayo (the mayo at BK is like 110 calories a serving), a side salad and a diet coke, and I can have todays meal which was a whopper Jr. with cheese, no beef, no mayo, an order of apple fries and a small coke.

Both are around 400 calories, $4.00 and a good size for lunch.  But, really, I think those are my only two options.

This end of town is definitely lacking in healthy, casual eating options that I would like to visit for lunch.

Maybe I’ll go shopping tonight for Tortilla Soup ingredients!

  1. No beef?  Really?  Oh, that is just so sad. Does BK have a grilled chicken sandwich?  I really wish fast food places would offer more healthy options. I wish the buns weren’t so thick. The BK by us doesn’t have customers, either.  Although, I can think of a few that I pass by that have customers.

  2. @skanickadee – I’ve been avoiding chicken too.  I’ve gone quasi vegetarian at least for a while. Erins fault.  Sad isn’t it?

  3. The veggie burger sounds good. I haven’t eaten a burger in a few years, not trying to be healthy just a change of

  4. We should go out for lunch together… I am low low low carbing it, so I could have the berger part! LOL

  5. @tracy – Ah, it is supposed to be good for you so good for you.

  6. I like the whopper jr., but I’m a carnivore!!!

  7. I hate mayo of any kind. I don’t like tartar sauce on my fish either. I have been a picky eater always and now it’s even worse!!! I just hate food! It must be a diabetic thing I’m going through. I had potato chips and cofffee for breakfast this morning. As I write that I want to puke! Bah Humbug Food!

  8. @GoodGuyTheBoss – somehow it seems that food gets less appealing when you start having to pay so much attention to it.

  9. so you ate a cheese, lettuce, and pickle sandwich?? that sounds pretty awful. and i hate burger king!

  10. when I eat, I don’t care about stuff like calories …

  11. @lilms_sassy – And Onion and Tomato!  We eat them at home all the time too.

  12. That sandwich looks pretty good actually! I go through BK phases. I might eat there twice a week some weeks and then I can go two months without eating there. I ALWAYS ask for no mayo. It’s ridiculous how many extra (empty) calories that adds to the sandwich. I typically just get a grilled chicken sandwich when I go there. Crispy chicken if I’m feeling saucy.
