Got into the office and found this.

I won’t explain, I’ll just leave it to your imagination.

Then tried some new tea.  A free sample I got from of Rooibos Green Tea.  Pretty tasty.

Then at about 12:05 pm I started feeling weird hot spots on my skin, then it started to itch, but 12:15 I looked like this:

Unbelievable!  By far the most spectacular  rash (non childhood disease related) I’ve ever had.  Popped an anti-histamine and came home in case it got worse before it got better.

Mostly gone now but my skin feels weird.  Hope it doesn’t come back when the antihistamine wears off.  I have my annual nephrologist appointment tomorrow. (which explains the nasty bruise from the blood draw that I just noticed made it into the picture) I don’t think they’ll let me in with  that rash.

I dunno.  The weirdness of my middle aged body is both amusing and appalling these days.  I do know, I won’t be buying that tea, just in case.

  1. That’s a great way of always having desktop space 😀 Take care of that rash, doesn’t look like hives, but it appears internal. Just guessing.

  2. I do think it looks like hives. Major hives! I looked like that once when I wore wool pants to school all day. I am allergic to wool. duh. Stay on the antihistimine!

  3. Man, I wonder what was in the tea! What a day! All of my cool coworkers are giving blood today. I am ineligible because of my (possible) Mad Cow Disease. I hate that I can’t give blood. But I sympathize, because I’ve been lethargic all afternoon.

  4. The fan/papers all over thing???  Are the cleaning people mad at you???David inexplicably gets hives.  He recently had them all over his body.  Very similar to what you have there.  That is a bummer.  Drink lots of water to flush the ickies out.

  5. Oh, my goodness!  That looks painful and itchy!  Do mention the tea to your doctor.  I wonder if there was some kind of contaminant in it or something.  Not sure what to think about that fan!Kathi

  6. @strawberryfieldsgirl – I am allergic to wool, too!  When I was a kid, my mom made me wear wool skirts, and even when they were lined, often the side seams and hem were not, and I’d have rash marks on those areas.  I also had to wear a wool dickey, but I could yank that sucker off as soon as I left her sight!  :-p  Years later, I was given lanolin cream for breastfeeding, when I had my first kid.  Oops!  That was awful!Kathi

  7. That was just down right disgusting!

  8. That is an awful rash. I wonder what was in the tea?

  9. oh, what a day!  hope this finds you getting better!a few weeks ago, I had red dots on my hands and luckily it didn’t get worse.

  10. yow!!  Was that reaction to the tea or to your messed up office?  I hope it’s gone by now.

  11. Yowza!  Niacin will give me a shortlived rash .. I wonder what was in that tea that could have done that to you.  Get better, dear one.  Oh, the fan pics are funny and mysterious.

  12. Dang!  That looks aweful!  Definately hives.  I bet your skin feels kind of crispy and dry from the inside now.  That’s what happens when I get hives.  It has been a long time.  Knock wood.Hope it clears up soon.
