slept and slept and slept.
Took about 5 minutes to figure out how to turn the shower on. Then finally realized I was doing it right, it was just turned really really tight!
Shower was at an odd angle and I couldn’t reach it to fix it!
Bathtub side was really really high. When I stepped out, I couldn’t actually reach the floor with one foot in the bath and one foot on the floor.I wonder what the average height of a Swedish person is.
My previous boss picked me up at work yesterday and took me out for a Kaffe. Then she drove around and around and around the city so I could see things. The strangest thing was the Hot Air Balloons. Apparently it’s a very popular thing to do here, go riding around in the balloons.
When I arrived back at my hotel we could not get anywhere near it and there were THOUSANDS of people milling about.
She dropped me across the street and pointed me in the right direction. Apparently I scheduled my trip for the same time as Ozzy Osborne scheduled his.
He was performing in the Globe ampitheater which is attached to my hotel. You know, the Globe Hotel. It was all very exciting, and a bit loud.
Day 3 (I think)
First of All – UHG. I did not sleep last night. I finally fell asleep at about 4am and was back up at 7.
This morning I went to leave the hotel and there were 100 or so people
milling about in the lobby. I walked out of the hotel and a man wearing
orange coveralls quickly came towards me speaking loudly in Swedish. He
put his hands on my shoulders and started pushing me back to the hotel.
I stopped and said, English? To which he replied – Bomb. So quite
quickly I went back into the hotel. No one seemed overly concerned so I
just stood there with everyone for quite awhile. Suddenly there was a
very loud BOOM!
Apparently what I heard him say as BOMB was in fact, BOOM! And they had
just dynamited something in the construction site across the driveway from my hotel.
Today my hotel has been taken over by Sting! I totally flirted with a Welsh roadie. What a fantastic accent.
