One more day…

Left Port Charlotte Florida with the sunrise in our rearview mirror.  How appropriate.

That is the view from our rental. It’s a KIA Soul.  Not as much room in the back as you would think looking at them!  It’s all up room, which you can’t use if you want to see out the back window.  Car will be at least two weeks.  I have no idea what we’re going to do about getting it back to Ohio.  Just wait and see what the next week brings I guess.  My chest is still really sore.  There is only very minimal bruising but it hurts when I breathe deep or move wrong.  Maybe seat belts should have two or three inches of padding on them.  Luckily everyone is safe and sound and just sporting a couple of battle bruises.

Sitting in a Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, in Dalton Georgia surrounded by mountains.  Beautiful.  This morning was the first time I’ve looked through the pictures I’ve taken.  I got some fun ones, but that will be a long entry and not until vacation is done. 🙂  Corey and I have one more day of vacation by ourselves, without the rest of the extended family.  We will turn a six hour drive into a 12 hour drive by stopping everywhere along the way, then we’ll have a four hour drive tomorrow to get home.

Off to get a start on my day in the mountains.

  1. I am sorry you were hurt.  I know it could have been worse still I feel bad for you.Enjoy your last vacation day!!!

  2. You didn’t break a rib or anything did you?  This will be referred to as that unfortunate vacation to Florida like we say that unfortunate trip to Hawaii…I’m really sorry this all happened…enjoy your trip home!!!!!!

  3. I missed that car accident post, glad that everyone is ok.

  4. I hope you get to feeling better.. that car thing is a total drag, too…

  5. I missed the accident post. Glad to read you’re OK, though, but understandably a little sore from it. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

  6. You are a strong woman to keep the vacation spirit going. Good luck with the car and have a safe trip the rest of the way home.

  7. I think you’re on to something with the seatbelt thought. i know a lot of ppl who’ve been hurt pretty bad from them.  Glad you’re ok!! Enjoy the rest of your vacation!!
