I found this guy sitting on my conference room wall this morning.  Why? I’m on the second floor, no trees by my windows. Where did he come from? A part of me thinks I should take him off the wall and put him on the outside windowsill or take him downstairs and outside. But what if he is a she and has a bunch of babies close by? Perhaps actually in the walls.  Can I be responsible for this?  What to do, what to do…

  1. You do know that insects don’t care for their young…so…you won’t really be making a bunch of orphans if you put it outside.

  2. I don’t know about whether or not crickets take care of their young but I can assure you that you really don’t want a cricket infestation.

  3. @skanickadee – I have done a catch and release and he is now two floors away out in the great outdoors!

  4. @tracy – Was it hard to catch it?  Those little things can be quite hoppy!

  5. @skanickadee – I think he/she was sleeping or something.  Didn’t move at all until I put that cup over.  Then it was a hoppy frenzy.

  6. I’m pretty sure those hoppers don’t nurture their young. Out the door would be better he/she can find food out there. 🙂

  7. Out the window he would go!  And hopefully no chew was spat.  Yuck!!

  8. maybe rode the elevator up on a shoe? A gecko came back with us from hawaii

  9. Many insects and bugs care for their young, though grasshoppers are not one of them. Even if they did, eggs would be outside 😛 Maybe he came in on someones’ pantleg or bag.

  10. This probably doesnt help, but they eat them in Thailand…

  11. @carolinamuscle – So maybe it was a free lunch delivery from the Thai place down the street?

  12. @tracy – hahahahaha…..exactly !!!
