Cooked with Fresh Tomato & Onion this morning. First time in 7 weeks. So good…

And I had cake!  I bought a little tiny Angel Food Cake from Trader Joes!  Num!

Oh! And I went grocery shopping yesterday! I was sad when we started driving up through Michigan and realized I completely missed the Autumn colors. In my head, it’s the beginning of October. Strange feeling.

  1. Have you ever tried stir-frying onions and straw mushrooms together?  Very tasty; also, very cleansing, for those of us who are of an age, when we wish to avoid the Sad Tragedy Of Constipation.(I’m in and out of courthouses a lot and I have to say that the toilet paper in office buildings and courthouses is of vastly inferior quality compared to the nice Quilted Northern that we get at home, in 12 packs.  But then again, some people might point at me and say that my a$$, is truly what is vast.  And here I am on Xanga not on a treadmill where some people might say I belong.)

  2. The only bad thing about fall colors is they don’t last long then they turn to hoards of leaves on the ground tat have to be raked and right now I can’t do that…that is one thing I enjoy I like to rake the leaves up into piles and feel the warmth as I burn them off…I know sounds pretty crazy…I wish we lived close to trader joes dang sounds good

  3. @TheCrimesOfDougMoe – Toilet paper quality is nothing to be laughed at. You can really hurt yourself with that city government funded stuff. Anything cooked with onions and oil is fantastic.

  4. @SisterMae – Sister I hope your arm feels better soon.

  5. @TheCrimesOfDougMoe – it just takes time to heal it just gets dang frustrating

  6. I would bet this joy will linger for a long time.  So glad you are able to eat again!

  7. I’m sorry you missed the pretty colors this year but you will see them next year!I am so glad you can eat again!  Truly everything in life is better with onions although last night Craig said having chocolate milk with a sandwich on an onion bun wasn’t a great combination but mostly everything.Yay for cake!!!!

  8. I love onion and cake ! 🙂 This post made me really happy! I hope the Joy doesn’t wear off for a while xx

  9. You know you were kind of a foodie, in that you appreciate ingredients and things before all of this. I have a feeling you’re going to appreciate it even more so for a very long time. 🙂 Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy!!!

  10. not a big onion person myself it does still feel like October though!!!

  11. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I think this kind of joy can last a while, actually. I know you have it in you to appreciate these simple pleasures. I went through a pre-divorce, not chemo, so it’s a different thing, but I still (almost two years later) find myself simply grateful.

  13. So glad that you are getting to enjoy food again!
