My husband is leaving the country for a month and I think I will use that time to improve myself.

I’m thinking about things that I can make noticeable changes to in 21  days. One of my top two contenders is to exercise for 30 minutes a day minimum for 21 days straight. Six months ago I was averaging 60 minutes a day over a weeks time and now I’m probably at about 10 minutes a day average! Time to get back in a healthy pattern.

Number two on my list is learning spanish in 30 minutes a day. I think in 30 minutes a day for 21 days straight I could get a nice start on it. I think I will start on Monday January 30th.

Still thinking. Have not made a final decision. One week to work it out.

If you had 21 days to devote to yourself what do you think you could do?

  1. I think the exercise is a great idea.  Not sure what else I would do.  A third language would be nice and I could probably pick up German since I took it in college, but it’s hard to retain if you don’t speak it very often.  I would probably put some time into my artwork….do a few pen and inks.  If it was in the warmer months, I would work on sprucing up the landscaping in the yard.

  2. Exercise is what I would do. Anything else I’d need more time for. But a fine idea.

  3. What are you going to do to learn Spanish?  I’ve actually been thinking about this but wasn’t sure where to start.  I’d be interested in hearing how you plan to go about this.

  4. @skanickadee – Rosetta stone! Fantastic program.

  5. @Emme402 – Working on creating artwork is a wonderful idea. Good for the soul. Imagine how much you could refine if every day you forced yourself to sit down and work on it for 15 minutes or a half hour. It would be like taking a class. When I was drawing or painting every day I saw a huge difference. I think it’s like the language, gotta use it.@Zoz36 – Thank you!

  6. I always want to do more exercises to keep myself fit and healthy! Will see your accomplishement in 21 days!

  7. I hate to admit this cuz I am aware of the way I look at life this is completely contradictory and makes me a loser…but if I had 21 day where I didn’t have to actually see anyone, I would sleep as much as I needed to in order to get thru those days without smoking a cigerette. and after 21 days I would be over it. And yes I have quit before and yes I know I should and yes yes yes to everything else any normal person is thinking but the fact is every night I think I will quit tomorrow and every day I light another one and well that’s what I hate most about me. aren’t you glad you asked. but I do think that spanish thing is an awesome idea. so that would be a great idea too!! and I might get all my pictures out and organized in the middle of the floor cuz they wouldn’t be in anyone’s way. Cuz I ‘m exciting like that.

  8. @strawberryfieldsgirl – After five years of not smoking just thinking about smoking again makes me smile. Sad isn’t it?  I am sure someday you will just quit.  I used the commit lozenges and they worked really well for me, but I had to wait until my husband quit and then completely remove myself from all smokers. Forever.I wish I knew how I magically underlines that line up there. 🙂
