A stitch in time..

I don’t know what a stitch in time saves, but I do know that a stitch in Tracy that gets pulled hurts. I guess I actually must have pulled the skin not the stitch. I think it was when I was on the elliptical yesterday. I tried not to be too vigorous on the swinging arms but I must have done a little more than I should have. I glopped it with neosporin and skipped the elliptical today. Well, that and its really nice out and I’m sleepy. 🙂

I have some writing in me itching to get out. I’ll get there, or it will go away.

I’m going to try yoga tomorrow.  There are only a couple of things that might pull too much. Things that are easily adapted though. I got over needing my yoga to be the best yoga. My yoga is now, my yoga. I make modifications as I need to and try to make sure I’m pushing myself a little, but not hurting myself at all.

I have been a slug this week. I think I lost a few days because I was really thinking I had a couple of more days left in the week before the weekend.

My celery is growing so fast! Wait!  I’m going to go take a picture really quick.

Isn’t it cute? It’s actually about four and half inches tall now. We have another one started in another little pyrex custard cup. If I had space I could time this so that I always homegrown celery. I love the thought of eating something that I know where it’s been and what it’s touched.

All righty! I’m tired of typing now too. 🙂 Short attention span. Three weeks or so till vacation!

  1. I feel like a proud Godmother of a celery plant. It’s so darn cute. I’ve been doing one yoga pose over and over as I wait for my tea water to heat in the microwave several times a day. I don’t know what it’s called but if I say Cap’n Morgan’s pose you’ll know which one. I’m working on my balance and that one seems to help and I have sore thighs and bum so doubly good. Be careful tomorrow.

  2. @irishis63 – Haha, that’s my coffee making pose!

  3. I love your celery it is so cute! I’ll be interested in hearing how your home grown celery tastes.Ouchy! When will you be getting those out?I was wondering do you or Corey take Omega 3 – do you have a favorite brand?  I need to start taking it again but I know the brand I was taking supposedly had higher levels of mercury.

  4. @skanickadee – They are dissolving stitches so they’ll just fall around me like rose petals as they disintegrate. I do not take Omega 3, Corey buys Nature Made. I don’t think he’s done any research on it though.

  5. @tracy – I like your metaphor. Yep, my doc wants me to take it and there are a lot of variations out there and the whole mercury thing. I guess I should read up on it some more.

  6. Such a bright little plant

  7. It is sooo cute

  8. ooooooo… vacation !!!!!!

  9. Vacation?  Woo hoo!Yoga is great, isn’t it?  I always modify when I do it.

  10. I was raised in the country and we grew a LOT of our food, although never celery.  It really is gratifying.  Mom used to have trouble keeping us kids out of the garden when the bell peppers, tomatoes and strawberries were ripe.  Nothing better than eating a handful of strawberries fresh off the vine.  I am curious to see how big your celery gets.  Keep us posted!

  11. How did you grow the celery?

  12. @Muzwah – When we bought a bunch and cut off the bottom I threw it in a pyrex custard bowl full of water and it started growing from the top almost immediately. Once it had a few leaves I threw it in a pot with dirt. 2nd attempt not growing as fast, I think because we cut it flat. I re-cut it this morning so the sides are sloped and it’s sitting in more water with only the top poking out.

  13. @tracy – That is so cool!

  14. We are taking a week in mid-April also.  It almost seems greedy after our Hawaii trip in January, but hey, if they want to give me the vacation days, I’ll take them!  Glad to hear that you have something good coming up, too.

  15. @RakkaRay – One year, because of circumstances beyond my control, I ended up taking a weeks vacation every three months.  It was just horrible. 😉
