Good Morning!

Yesterday drove to the beautiful city of Orland Park Illinois. Well, first I drove to my sisters’ house where she showed me this:

She snuck out this week and got a tattoo! It was incredibly surprising as she has always been firmly against them! It’s gorgeous and I am jealous.

We had an uneventful drive, which is just the way I like them.

Got a quick bit to eat when we got here and then checked into the hotel. Then immediately left to hit up Trader Joes and stock up on wine, pita chips and hummus. 🙂 The priorities in our lives.

Eventually we also finally met up with Nina &Mary Beth

We went out for a quick dinner at The Corner Bakery. I really like The Corner Bakery and we do not have any near Toledo. My husband REALLY likes The Corner Bakery so I of course took this picture and tossed it on Facebook last night.

Not sure why I didn’t take more pictures. Then we all came back to the hotel where I drank the first bottle of win (with a little bit of help) and fell asleep by 11:30 and slept really really hard! Had a bad dream and woke up with a start at 555 am. So here I am! Of course those times are Toledo times, so here it’s 455 am wake up time. The nice thing about this hotel is the dividing door between the bedroom and sitting room so I can make coffee and type on here without waking my sister. Though, I wish I had thought to leave my suitcase out in this room. I would take my morning pills and put on my workout clothes. Maybe I’ll not worry about it today. We’ll see. I’ll probably get enough exercise in our day in Chicago today. I will take pictures today!

  1. I went to bed late last night, and woke early. I may need a nap. Have much fun!

  2. Reading back I find it funny that I typo’d on wine, and that I ended the last three sentences with the word today.

  3. I read it BC (before coffee). It seemed perfectly constructed to me!

  4. I will admit I’m a tiny bit jealous. Chicago is on my “bucket list”  and meeting fellow Xangans is always great! Also, I have family in the Chicago area. My daughter went to Chicago last year when her bf graduated Navy boot camp-she fell in love with the city. Have a wonderful time! Take pics to share, please!

  5. Sounds like you are having a great time.  There is always so much to do around here that getting away has been difficult.  I love your sister’s tattoo.  I have always said I wouldn’t get one, but have been rethinking that lately.  Of course, I think I’m just too much of a chicken.  I would be more like Phoebe on “Friends” when she went to get a tattoo, but all she got was a tiny pinpoint of ink (because she was scared).  She told everyone that it was how her mother in heaven viewed the earth!Have tons of fun and take lots of pics!

  6. Good morning to you, Sweet-pie!  I’m beginning to think that a night’s sleep isn’t really a night’s sleep without a good nightmare or two.  This is particularly true when I am working on my Vietnam memoir.  Hey, sounds like you and Sis are having a great time!

  7. @RakkaRay – Thanks Ray. It is a good time. I can’t imagine reliving memories of a war, good luck

  8. @tracy – Sorry if I sounded grim.  I think that Memorial Day approaching has me a bit jumpy.  But this year I’m planning to go down to the Wall to watch Rolling Thunder come into town – tens of thousands of motorcycles!  I’ll take pictures.

  9. @RakkaRay – That would be an amazing thing to see.
