I did my part over the years. I paid for my premium membership and gifted more lifetime memberships that I can even remember.

I have been polite and respectful almost all of the time.

When Xanga announced their “revamp” or shutdown they graciously agreed to give everyone access to their archives. They even implemented a wordpress archive.

Sadly it doesn’t work for everyone and they have chosen not to respond. All you have to do is read the comments.

I’ve got an archive of my blogs, always have so I’m not really out anything, but would like the zip file of pictures because that’s just darn convenient!

I guess for the most part it’s more than I could have expected. Most companies close their doors without warning. Xanga was kind enough to warn everyone.

They’ve rallied a group together to try and fund raise, and that’s pretty cool. It’s nice to see that sense of community even if I don’t want to participate.

Okay, done now. πŸ™‚

Come hang out with me occasionally, k?

  1. You know I will come hang-out I see you on face book all the time by the way that last picture of you wow is so pretty

  2. Hey Tracy, you have everything but wordpress, if you need help getting started there I’m willing to help you. I’m not an expert but know enough to get it started, Plus you’re pretty good with these blogging site software, already. There might be more xangans on wp. Just saying if you want to try.

  3. @wematter – Oh no, I have everything. I only listed what I actively use. use it to read blogs and I let my pedometer auto-post there. I don’t really know why. πŸ™‚

  4. @SisterMae – Well thank you! I assume you mean the ones that my husband took by the river-front which I thought were quite horrible!

  5. @tracy –  wow I should be asking you for help! You have all the blogging sites down :D. You do well at LJ anyways while xanga is in disarray right now, some people closing their sites, others pushing for people to pledge money. With all that going on, in all the chaos, I think I managed to make a couple of new friends not sure yet. I don’t need many just a few good ones to go bother when they post something πŸ™‚ They are on wp too. Have fun at your meetup. I’ve decided not to be a part of the xanga 2.0 that will just further enhance the hierarchey system here. Leaving people out that can’t afford to pay and limiting their use to commenting and subscribing on other people’s sites.  You were right.
